A Jet airways flight made an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad on Saturday after a passenger developed chest pain.

The passenger identified as Uttam Vishnu Mane, 46, from Bangalore, boarded the Delhi-Bangalore flight at Delhi airport.

After the passenger complained of chest pain, the crew alerted Air Traffic Control (ATC) at RGIA requesting them for permission for making an emergency landing.

Soon after getting clearance, the flight landed at around 11.30 a.m.

Declared brought dead

Airport officials rushed him to a nearby Apollo Medical Centre where doctors declared him brought dead, said RGIA Sub-Inspector G. Srikanth Goud.

The passenger was working as an Assistant Manager in a Bangalore-based private company.

Police registered a case of suspicious death under Section 174 CrPc and the case is under investigation.
