Two women nabbed

Kakinada: The Eluru range anti-human trafficking inspector B. Apparao along with Kakinada rural circle Inspector R.V.S.N. Murthy has successfully busted the flesh trade racket operating with Kakinada outskirts as the base by nabbing two women stated to be the organisers, two men-allegedly the financiers of flesh trade gang, along with three sex workers and four customers. A posse of police raided the house in Kasinathapuram of Toorangi village panchayat on Friday when the entire racket has come to light. Two others- Potabattula Dharma Rao stated to be an auto driver and his friend Katam Siva were also taken into custody for luring the girls to flesh trade and supplying them to various clients. The names of the arrested were given as: Jampana Venkatapathiraju, Pothamsetti Govindarao, Gunda Sai Venkatram and Nandipati Ramulu (Clients) Medapati Srinivasa Reddy and Kedarisetti Satya Prasad (Financiers).

Counselling

Briefing the details of the case to newsmen here on Friday, the SP Srinivasulu and additional SP Ranga Nath said that the flesh trade organisers- Duvva Rathna Kumari and her sister Seetha Rathnam were in the trade for some time past and the RDO has served extermination order on the chief organiser Rathna Kumari a fortnight ago. He said that in an effort to bring a change on the mindset of the organisers and the three sex workers providing the way for honourable living, the police were counselling them with the help of the `Changes', a non-governmental organisation and the Godavari Mahila samakhya Rajahmundry. He claimed that the flesh trade in Peddapuram area was contained with the effective vigil by the police.
