A newly built five-floor building accommodating a popular textile and jewellery shop in Ramnagar tilted, leading to suspicions of substandard quality of construction and improper foundation.

Soon after noticing that the building tilted to one site, the owner closed the shop on the ground and two floors, while hundreds of curious residents of the locality thronged the site.

Built 3 months back

Owned by a businessman Vijay Kumar, the commercial building with ground plus five floors was built three months ago with a 20-foot structure facing the road.

People of the locality and occupants of neighbouring residential and commercial buildings are worried about the slanting building damaging theirs.

The GHMC authorities examined the building and issued notices to its owners.
