The urban police arrested three women and two men relating to a robbery committed on the outskirts of Rajahmundry about a month ago and recovered booty from them.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, urban SP T. Ravikumar Murthy said that East division DSP R. Satyanand had gone to Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh to nab the accused. He lauded the DSP and his team for solving the case.
The SP said that seven persons had entered a house in Muralikonda area of Bommuru on the outskirts of Rajahmundry in last month in broad daylight and decamped with booty.
When the residents returned from market, they detected the robbery and immediately informed the police.
The DSP, with the help of Clues team, went to Bhopal and nabbed Sheela Bhai, Usha and Laki along with Sunil, Lekiraj. The other two accused Jasram and Guppi are at large.
Police recovered 388 grams gold and 2 kg silver worth Rs.15 lakh from the arrested.
