Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) Vice-Chancellor R.V. Raja Kumar is upbeat about employability of the rural students. As the first batch – the university was set up in 2008 -- is set to graduate next year, Prof. Raja Kumar exuded confidence. “ The students are under internship with prestigious institutions which include Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, BSNL, Irrigation department, APTransco, APGenco and APSRTC,” Prof. Kumar said. VSP is training 1,000 students and likely to enter into an MoU with the university, he said. Students whose parents’ income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum get fee reimbursement from the government, while those with over Rs. 1 lakh income pay Rs. 36,000 per annum for the first two years, and Rs. 40,000 for the next four years.
