Officials of the A.P. State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department will observe ‘Fire Services Awareness Week’, from April 14 to 20, which also coincides with ‘Firemen Commemoration Day’. In connection with Commemoration Day, the fire personnel will pay tributes to the firemen, who lost their lives in discharging their duties, at PWD Grounds, on Sunday, said Krishna district Fire Officer V. Srinivas.

The fire department officials will create awareness among the public on the rules framed by the government for constructing buildings for residential purpose, commercial, education, high rise structures, public utility and other purposes to prevent fire mishaps.

Firemen will explain the students, employees of various departments and the public on alerting fire control during accidents, rescue and rehabilitation operations and on putting out flames, during the awareness week.

“We will train the public on how to prevent human and animal loss”, said the DFO.
