HYDERABAD: A major fire that broke out in an oil mill at Shatamrai near Shamshabad on Tuesday night triggered panic among residents. Luckily, there was no loss of life.

Though the exact reasons for the fire were yet to be established, officials of the Fire and Emergency Services Department said that flames could have erupted in Sharada Oil Mill due to electrical short-circuit.

Seven fire tenders from Chandulal Baradari, Langer Houz, Madhapur, Hayathnagar, Moulali, Secunderabad, Gachibowli and Moghalpura were rushed to the spot and the fire extinguished within four hours.

The fire control room received the call around 8.10 p.m.

Precautionary measures were taken to prevent flames from spreading to other buildings, officials said.
