A Telugu film producer-cum-director, V. Ramakrishna, who allegedly procured two pistols to avenge the killing of his father, was arrested by the Jubilee Hills police on Thursday.
A 9 mm pistol and another of .32 calibre, along with 26 live rounds, were seized from him in a raid on his house in Krishnanagar B Block in Yousufguda, Banjara Hills ACP E. Shankar Reddy said. His father was murdered a year ago in Kaskuru of Guntur district allegedly by Naga Raju and Potha Raju.
“He claims the duo occupied their three acres of agricultural land in the village after killing his father. Ramakrishna wanted to use the weapons to take revenge on the killers and get back his land,” the ACP said. The accused, who had produced and directed a Telugu film, purchased the firearms from Rajveer Singh of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. His friends Gopi and Giri helped him get the weapons, the police said.
