Field test was conducted for the Assistant Sub Inspectors and Head Constables seeking departmental promotions from West and East Godavari and Krishna districts falling under the Eluru range here on Tuesday.

A little over 125 head constables and ASIs underwent a slew of tests which included arms test and spot drill under the supervision of a three-member committee, comprising Vikram Singh Mann, Eluru range DIG, M. Ramesh, West Godavari Superintendent of Police, and Patrudu, Additional Commandant of the Battalion-III of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP), Kakinada.

The candidates, who had cleared the written test, were called for the field test. The SP said those who cleared the field test would be shortlisted for the pre-promotional police training with a duration for four and a half months. Later, they will be given postings in the Eluru range in their elevated cadres, he added.
