Government chief whip G. V. Ramana Reddy described the ‘protest’ launched by YSRC honorary president Vijayamma as ‘dubious’ and aimed at hoodwinking people.

The chief whip said the YSRC leaders were misleading people and were trying to gain political mileage out of no issues. “We are ready for an open debate on fee reimbursement issue,” he told the newsmen here on Thursday.

The State government headed by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy had initiated several programmes for SC and ST students and crores of rupees were released for the fee reimbursement scheme. The Congress leader also found fault with the statements issued by the YSRC that Telangana issue was not the affair of Congress party. He faulted the party for writing a letter to Union Home Minister seeking one more all-party meeting. “They do not have a stand. They want to please people of Andhra and Telangana regions,” he said.
