PCC secretary Y. Sunil Rao said that the farmers of the district have rejected the Telangana Rashtra Samiti in the recently held cooperative elections. But, the TRS was desperate to attain DCCB chairman post by resorting to unethical practices of securing support from other political parties, he added.
Talking to newsmen here on Friday, Mr. Sunil Rao said that the farmers have extended their support to the Congress in the cooperative elections attracted by the welfare measures initiated by the State government for the benefit of farmers. He claimed that the farmers have confidence on the Congress party high command on the formation of separate Telangana State and elected the party in the cooperative elections.
He alleged that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao was only talking about 2014 elections. He said that the Congress would teach a fitting lesson to TRS in the DCCB chairman elections in Karimnagar district.
