The Saroornagar police on Friday stumbled upon leads that a 38-year-old woman living alone, who was missing for the last three days, had been murdered by her distant relatives.

The victim, Suguna, hailing from Devarakonda of Nalgonda district was living in a single-room house at Green Park Colony in Karmanghat. She was married 15 years ago but divorced her husband. Her younger sister Draupadi living at B.N. Reddy Colony grew suspicious as Ms. Suguna didn’t take calls on her mobile phone. She came to her elder sister’s house and found it locked. With the help of neighbours, they broke open the doors only to find blood splattered on one of the walls. “Based on her sister’s complaint, we began investigation and got leads that Ms. Suguna was murdered,” the Saroornagar Sub-Inspector, Anjaneyulu, said.

Inquiries revealed that the victim adopted a daughter, . who was also living separately after developing differences with her husband. Police are probing if family matters led to the woman’s murder.
