TIRUMALA: TTD’s security and vigilance sleuths busted a racket relating to the circulation of fake ‘free laddu’ tokens at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara.
According to sources the security sleuths at the Alipiri check point have taken an unidentified person into custody and seized several hundreds of free laddu tokens from him. Shocked at the huge number of tokens possessed by him the security officials immediately swung into action and on verification found them to be ‘fake’. Even though the incident is believed to have taken place a couple of days back the security officials are tight-lipped and are maintaining it as a highly guarded secret.
Taking advantage of the never ending demand for the much-sought-after ‘laddu prasadam’ the fake tokens were sold at exorbitant rates to the visiting devotees. Investigations then revealed that tokens were printed in Salem of Tamil Nadu.
