M. Vithal (56), an accused in a fake currency note case, died while being shifted to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. The incident took place in Medak district on Monday evening.
According to Siddipet DSP Ch. Sridhar, the police of Medak district conducted a raid at a location at Nagole in Hyderabad in the wee hours and arrested two persons in connection with fake currency printing. The police also seized fake currency notes to the tune of Rs.20 lakh and arrested two persons, M. Vithal and Ganga Ram. They were brought to Siddipet for investigation.
Vithal was identified as an HIV patient and immediately shifted to Government Hospital at Siddipet for treatment. Later, with the permission of Additional Judicial first class magistrate, the police made arrangements to shift him to Gandhi Hospital. But he died on the way to hospital.
Mr. Sridhar said that two more persons, Faim and Rangaiah, were at large and the search was on to nab them. He said that the gang had its base in Hyderabad.
