HYDERABAD: The city police on Sunday claimed to have busted a fake certificates racket with the arrest of two persons, including a B.Tech student.

Thirty-one duplicate certificates of 14 universities in the country, laptop, printer, scanner and rubber stamps were seized from the possession of the accused – P. Goverdhan Reddy, 25, a private employee and resident of Chandanagar and his accomplice N. Naresh Kumar Reddy, 27, a B.Tech student and resident of Gandhinagar, police said.

According to police, the duo scanned certificate format of all the universities along with other educational institutions and stored them in a separate folder in their laptop. They used to provide certificates by charging Rs.6,000 each.
