VISAKHAPATNAM: A reception counter would be opened at Isukakonda Sri Satyanarayana Swamy temple on Babaji hill to provide special darshan to senior citizens and physically challenged devotees on occasion of “Pournami” every month, Assistant Commissioner of Endowments and Executive Officer of the temple R. Pushpanadham said on Wednesday.

Queue lines were being provided on every Pournami as several thousands of devotees visit the temple as the day was considered auspicious, and do “pradakshina” of the Dwajasthambham and perform Satyanarayana Vratam apart from having Darshan. All facilities were being arranged for the common pilgrims and drinking water was provided in view of summer. Special Darshan tickets of Rs. 20 and Rs. 150 denominations were also available.

Counting of offerings made by the devotees in temple hundies was conducted and a sum of Rs. 4,56,118 was realised for the last three months, Mr. Pushpanadham said. Chairman of the temple trust board S. Srinivasa Rao, trustees, priests and Executive Officer of Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in port area Bhanu Raja participated.
