‘Expedite tax collection’

Municipal Commissioner K. Sudhakar on Thursday instructed the officials of Revenue Department to expedite the collection of pending taxes to help the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) shore up its revenues.

 He wanted information about the new rates of various taxes in vogue to be furnished for the purpose of ensuring compliance by taxpayers.

 Addressing a review meeting , Mr. Sudhakar said auction should be immediately held for vacant shops.
