Former Minister and Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday called upon the Telangana Ministers and legislators to exert pressure on the government, taking the stand of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati as inspiration, for securing statehood for the region.

Talking to press persons, Mr. Reddy praised the stand of the Telangana Congress MPs in stalling the proceedings of the Lok Sabha despite the warning given by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and the presence of AICC president Sonia Gandhi in the House.

The MLA expressed confidence of achieving Telangana if the Ministers and MLAs from the region exerted the ‘right' pressure on both the State and the Union governments. Mr. Reddy asserted that the Telangana agitation has not been stopped.
