Srikakulam District Collector Saurabh Gaur on Thursday urged youngsters to participate in community activities and social service so that they would become good citizens.
He inaugurated a blood donation camp and photo exhibition on the premises of the Gurajada Educational Society. He said that the administration would campaign for blood donation with a caption that ‘Every blood donor is a hero’ while congratulating Satish, a student, who coined the catchy slogan.
Mr.Gaur asked youngsters to be the members of youth committees which were involved in adult education, sanitation improvement programme and protection of the environment.
Mr.Saurabh Gaur also asked youngsters to enrol themselves as voters after attaining 18 years of age.
Gurajada Educational Society chairman G.Swami Naidu said that the institution was conducting more programmes in the name of Youth For Society.
Later, the Collector handed over appreciation letters to the blood donors. He appreciated the organisers for the good photos on environment and village life in the exhibition. Red Cross Society Srikakulam wing chairperson P.Jaganmohana Rao, Gayatri College principal Pulakhandam Srinivasa Rao, and Srikakulam Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Offcer T.Kailash Giriswar participated in the programme.
