Several engineering colleges that sought a fee hike last year may find themselves in trouble if their facilities and faculty pay are not as per the affidavits submitted.
Several such discrepancies were said to be found in their claims during inspections conducted by the Task Force Committees (TFCs) of the district and regional level. The state-level TFC reviewed reports furnished by the district and regional-level TFCs regarding inspection of 684 private unaided engineering colleges here. Committee members were of the view that they should recommend reduction of the hiked fee for colleges that made false claims or have failed to adhere to their assurances while seeking fee hike. The Committee decided to meet again on April 23 and a detailed report would be submitted to the government before April 25.
