VISAKHAPATNAM: A special drive has been launched by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to facilitate withdrawal of PF deposits of those subscribers who have left their amount unclaimed for over three years and which are lying in inoperative accounts. It was found that around 2,84,740 accounts, under the territorial jurisdiction of EPFO Sub Regional Office, are lying under ‘inoperative accounts', according to Regional PF Commissioner Ajeet Kumar.

All such subscribers from the three districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam have to submit their claims through their ex-employers along with sufficient proof of their identity for enabling the EPFO for speedy and prompt settlement/refund of the PF amounts to their rightful claimants.

Mr. Ajeet Kumar also appealed to all the employers of establishments covered under the EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act and the recognised trade unions under the jurisdiction of the SRO, Visakhapatnam, to extend their full cooperation to the local enforcement officers of EPFO when they visit the establishments to ascertain the details of such PF members and in identifying the rightful claimants.
