The State government will introduce ‘English' as a subject from 1st standard in all Telugu medium schools very soon to improve the language skills from their childhood. Principal Secretary of School Education Chandana Khan said here on Monday the government will issue orders for the introduction of English in all the schools.
While reviewing the progress of Rajiv Vidya Mission in Srikakulam district, she said even government school teachers were sending their children to private English medium schools. “Children of poor families should have access for English from initial state. That is why the government wanted to introduce it as a subject but not as a medium. She asked the teachers to enrol the children throughout the year to achieve the goal of Right to Education.
“Children of all age groups should be given admission in schools throughout the year. The government will conduct bridge course to improve their knowledge though they admitted in higher classes based on their age,” she added.
Mohammed Ali Rafat, project director of Rajiv Vidya Mission said electricity and water facility will be provided to all the schools across the State to enrol more students in government schools.
He said toilets will be constructed in all the schools. Srikakulam district Collector N. Srikanth said the district administration was taking necessary steps to implement Rajiv Vidya Mission in an effective way.
