Students to handle web-casting of the polling process

Students of various engineering colleges in Karimnagar town will also be roped in for the smooth conduct of gram panchayat elections along with the revenue, police, teaching community and other government employees deployed for polling duties in Karimnagar district.

267 booths to be monitored

The students will be deployed for election duties to handle the web-casting of the polling process in 267 problematic gram panchayats in the district.

In order to prevent persons from causing nuisance in polling booths, the live video from 267 booths will be monitored by the district election authorities through web-casting.

The entire recording done through web-casting will be closely monitored from the district headquarters.

635 problematic villages

Accordingly, a training programme was organised for students deployed for election duties for web-casting at the Vaageshwari Engineering College in Karimnagar town on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, District Election authority and Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah said that they had identified 635 problematic villages during the gram panchayat polls.

We have decided to conduct web-casting of 267 gram panchayats and deploy micro-observers in 211 villages while videography will be done in 157 villages along with the police force, he added.

Appreciating the engineering students for participating in the web-casting of gram panchayat polls, he said that they would provide transportation, food and shelter to the students in the villages.

The students were also told about the recording process of the polling booths through web-casting.

Joint Collector H. Arun Kumar, Election department supervisor Maheshwar, tahsildar Bhujanga Rao, MPDO Kishan Swamy was also present.
