Vivekananda Seva Samiti leaders on Thursday said that younger generation should study the teachings of Swami Vivekananda who could successfully explain the importance of Indian tradition and culture all over the World. Samiti convener K.V.N. Murthy, president V.V. Govindarajulu, members Jami Bhima Sankara Rao, Yoga Rama Rao, and others said the youth could build strong nation only when they were able to understand the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
Addressing a media conference, they said that a statue of Vivekandana would be unveiled at Suryamahal junction on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary on January 12.
Mr. Murthy thanked the government for the support extended through its organisations such as Nehru Yuvak Kendram, Red Cross Society, INTACH, and SETSRI.
A rally would be taken out from Suryamahal junction to Bapuji Kalamandir after unveiling of the statue at 9.30 a.m.
“Many youngsters did not know the contribution of the great leader who could inspire the entire nation through his preaching. That is why we are establishing his statue to enlighten the people and make them to serve the society,” he added.
Lions Club president and Red Cross Society-Srikakulam wing chairman P. Jaganmohana Rao, Vivekananda Samiti members Andhavarapu Suribabu, V. Nagaraju, and others were present. An essay-writing competition would be held at 10 a.m. at Bapuji Kalamandir at 10 a.m. on Friday on the topic of ‘Message of Vivekananda’.
