Merit, honesty and integrity will always be recognised and every individual should strive to achieve them, said English & Foreign Languages University (EFLU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunaina Singh.
Responding to encomiums showered upon her here at a felicitation function, she said she did not lobby for any position in her career but her hard work and dedication to the profession earned her recognition and positions without asking.
“I am overwhelmed with your love and it is like homecoming for me as I spent my formative years here in Warangal,” she said.
She thanked her classmates of 1977-79 batch of MA (English), Kakatiya University, who arranged for the felicitation.
Senior professor M. Rajagopalachary said Prof. Sunaina emulated her father, Prof. Satyanarayan Singh, who was the founder and head of Department of English, Kakatiya University.
She brought laurels to the family, university and to all her classmates through her excellence in her profession.
Associate professor K. Damodar Rao said Prof Sunaina’s meritocracy was honoured and her integrity recognised. He described her as ‘pride of Kakatiya University and Warangal’.
He read out a citation on the eve.
KU faculty members, KDC teachers and several English teachers from across the districts were present at the function.
