Efforts are being made to provide pension and launch a housing society for the employees of the APSRTC, A. K .Khan, Managing Director, said in Suryapet on Friday.

Talking to press persons during a halt en route to Vijayawada, he said discussions would be held with the recognised union on the two issues.

Mr. Khan said the corporation has a turnaround in its finances during the last two years, cutting down the losses of Rs. 500 crore to Rs. 270 crore last year and Rs. 240 crore in 2012-13.

Funds were being provided for the maintenance of various bus depots across the State.

As many as 2,000 new buses were purchased this year out of which 1,400 have been handed over to various depots.

The MD revealed that following the impressive financial performance, efforts were being made to run the corporation on a no-profit, no-loss basis.
