HYDERABAD: Ranga Reddy district Collector M. Danakishore on Tuesday asked all political parties not to propose any changes for shifting polling stations.

Addressing a meeting organised with representatives of different political parties here, he said that the Election Commission had clearly instructed not to shift polling stations. The Commission, however, permitted to create auxiliary polling booths in accordance with increase in number of voters, he explained. Outlining measures taken by the district administration for issuing electoral photo identity cards, the Collector said 500 additional teams were deployed in Uppal, Quthbullapur, L.B. Nagar, Rajendranagar and other areas for distributing 10 lakh cards. He advised the leaders to submit the list of polling booth agents and added that women should only be nominated as agents for women polling stations.
