VISAKHAPATNAM: The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers’ Association has urged the civil and service employees on election duty to cast postal ballot without fail.

State president of the association V. Gopal Reddy told mediapersons here on Sunday that though there were over 15 lakh State Government employees on election duty in every election, only 1.5 lakh exercised their franchise through postal ballot due to lengthy procedures.

“Now, we requested the CEO of the State to allow employees who are on election duty to exercise their franchise. For this, one EVM at each mandal headquarters will suffice and secrecy will also be protected,” he said.
