HYDERABAD: DuPont India, a science-based products and services company , announced expansion of its Rs.150 crore Dupont Knowledge Centre here to focus on materials research capability.
The expansion is the first step in expanded materials research at DKC. Once fully established the centre would include applications development, testing and demonstration facilities for diverse DuPont businesses related to safety and protection, construction, transportation and packaging markets in India, ASEAN and in other emerging markets in the region, said Mark P. Vergano, executive vice-president here on Monday.
Addressing the media, he said 80 per cent of DuPont’s research was focused on four significant areas- doubling food production in five years, decreasing energy consumption through alternative sources of energy. Material science was given emphasis for driving India’s growth and to address its local market needs , Mr. Mark said.
