It was a pleasant change in the climate on Tuesday for the city dwellers who had been reeling for the past few days under the impact of unrelenting Sun.
By late in the afternoon, temperatures came down and cool breeze brought in a few refreshing raindrops too. Taking advantage of the partially cloudy sky, people came out and crowded the streets and tourist spots.
The maximum temperature recorded in the day too has come down by nearly one degree Celsius. The maximum on Tuesday was 40.3 degrees Celsius as against the 41.1 degrees Celsius recorded on Monday.
R.V. Subbarao, the Assistant Meteorologist from the Met Department, attributed the weather change to the upper air trough extending over the Rayalaseema and Telangana regions, causing rains in both the areas.
Hailstorms too have been reported from a few places in Telangana, he said. The same weather conditions with further decrease in temperatures may prevail for the next 24 hours, he said. However, they will rise again in a couple of days, and continue till the onset of monsoon.
