Minister for Information and Public Relations D.K. Aruna informed that all steps are being taken to provide drinking water to every Assembly constituency in the district on permanent basis.
Participating in the third phase of the Rachabanda at Makthal on Tuesday, she said proposals have been submitted to the government with an estimated cost of Rs.71 crore to solve the drinking water problem in Makthal constituency permanently. She also sanctioned Rs. 5 lakh to Makthal from the ZP funds to take up CC roads and drain works.
As many as 70,680 pensions, 55,081 Indiramma house sanctioned letters, 1,32,568 ration coupons and 8,000 letters under Bangaru Thalli scheme will be distributed to the beneficiaries in Mahabubnagar district, she said, adding that electricity bill arrears of the SC and ST families who consumed below 50 units would be repaid.
The Minister urged the people to go for Indiramma houses as the government has increased the unit cost of a house to Rs.70,000 at village level, Rs.80,000 at municipality level, Rs.1 lakh for SC beneficiaries and Rs.1.05 lakh for ST beneficiaries.
Makthal MLA K. Dhayakar Reddy requested the Minister to release more funds for the completion of pending drinking water schemes in the constituency. Joint Collector L. Sharman and other officials were also present.
