School property damaged

  • Boy comes to school in `Ayyappa dress'
  • School insists he should wear uniform

NIZAMABAD: The windscreen of a jeep and furniture were allegedly damaged by BJP and ABVP activists at the St. Ann's High School after the management objected to a III Class student Veda Prakash attending the school dressed in a `Ayyappa dress' instead of the school uniform here on Thursday.

The boy had come to school in black dress as he had taken Swami Ayyappa `deeksha' along with his father Satyanarayana Goud on Wednesday. The trouble began when the management soon summoned Mr. Goud and made his son change into his uniform. The school management reportedly made it clear to Mr. Goud that his son would not be allowed to attend classes unless he appeared in school uniform to which the latter did agree.

However, getting wind of the incident, the BJP, ABVP and BJYM activists arrived at the school and got involved in a heated argument with the nuns. As tempers ran high, they allegedly smashed the school property. Deputy SP Harthiramji and Sub-Inspector S. Srinivas Rao rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
