The moments of joy filled the air as old and present students of the Andhra Medical College met at the Panagal building to celebrate the college’s ‘Granite Jubilee’ on Thursday.

Many interesting photographs such as pass certificate of the first batch student V. Varahalu Setti of the college, the first Principal Lt. Col. F.J. Anderson, reunion photographs from the 70s, ward parties of yesteryears and each batch with its corresponding Principal since its inception during the last nine decades were some of the pictures that drew the invitees attention.

Visitors were awed by the exhibits put up at the venue which made them go on a nostalgic trip from 1923 to 2013. With most of them studied, worked and retired serving as Assistant-Professor or Professor, HoD, Principal and DME’s, the exhibition brought back their old memories. Former DME and president of AMCOSA, R. Sasi Prabha of 1962 batch appreciated the photo exhibition. “We remember our college days and the old pictures brought back memories of our younger days,” she said.

It was a very special occasion for Principal of AMC N. Kalpana Subrahmanyam as she witnessed golden jubilee celebrations of the college as a student, diamond jubilee as a tutor and platinum jubilee as an assistant professor.
