Some e-governance projects launched in the district were given up midway due to lack of understanding of the projects and such a situation should not emerge again, Collector J. Syamala Rao said at an awareness meeting for district officials on the national e-governance plan, here on Wednesday.

Computerisation of records of Collectorate and land records taken up in the past were given up in the middle, he regretted and wanted the many existing e-governance projects like NREGS eMuster, eCAD, eMonitoring, etc. to be continued without a break and strengthened further. Officers and staff must change their attitude and understand the latest developments in information and technology and utilise them while serving the people, Joint Collector Pola Bhaskar said. Several e-governance projects in the district were not continued because the officers and staff did not bother about them, he said.


Assistant manager of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services E. Mahesh gave a Power Point presentation on the national e-governance plan, explaining the part to be played by the officers and staff and the advantages and benefits for the government and the people through the plan.
