Government doctors in Adilabad will sport black badges for one week starting Monday as a mark of protest against the reorganisation of duties done by the Medical and Health Department. The doctors met District Medical and Health Officer K. Swamy under the banner of Telangana Government Doctors’ Association on Sunday and represented the matter of posting 23 doctors as Drawing and Disbursement Officers at various Primary health Centres (PHC) in the district.

All the doctors including Dr. Vaishali of the leprosy ward declined to accept the duties as DDO which will have them work at PHCs which are far away from their place of posting. They alleged that the reorganisation of duties was done arbitrarily by Collector Babu A.

Talking to the newsmen, the government doctors also protested the style of functioning of the Collector.
