HYDERABAD: The A.P. Government Doctors Association has decided to defer their threat to go on an indefinite stir from May 1st till May 26.

The Association’s General Secretary D. Ranganth said on Tuesday that the decision was taken following preliminary talks with the Chief Minister’s appointed committee headed by Health Secretary L.V. Subrahmanyam today.

“We have utmost faith in the assurances given by the Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. We had fruitful discussions with the panel,” said Dr. Ranganath.

However, the Government doctors will continue to boycott regular operations including family planning and ‘Arogyasri’ at all hospitals.

Talks on May 3

The next round of talks with the committee is scheduled to be held on May 3, he added.

The Government doctors have been demanding Central Government Health Scheme scales among other things.
