Andhra Pradesh Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Associations (APNA) has chosen M. Krishna Reddy, a veteran doctor of Tirupati, and its past president for the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award' for 2011.

The award will be presented at the APNA State convention this Sunday in Hyderabad. With close to forty years of medical experience, he first worked as civil assistant surgeon in SVRR General Hospital. The “medical-entrepreneur” then chose to resign from service in 1977 to establish what is said to be the first private nursing home in the Tirupati.

Dr. Reddy was the president of Indian Medical Association's (IMA) Tirupati chapter during 1992-95, State vice-president for Rayalaseema region during 1995-96 and vice-president of APNA from 1996-2000. He was also a member of the bio-medical waste technical committee constituted by AP Pollution Control Board in 2001.
