District Medical and Health authorities have seized two private hospitals and six private diagnostic laboratories here on Monday on the charge of failing to comply with the norms governing registration and other mandatory requirements.

Sources said a team of officials headed by District Medical and Health Officer Ramesh Babu conducted surprise inspections at several private hospitals and labs.

‘Norms ignored’

When contacted, Dr. Ramesh Babu said two private hospitals and six diagnostic labs were seized for non-compliance with the provisions of the AP Allopathic Private Medical Care Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act.

Further action would be initiated against the managements of the seized establishments as per the procedure, he said.
