TIRUPATI: The controversy triggered by the senior Congress leader J.C. Diwakar Reddy with his remarks favouring merger of Rayalaseema with Telangana in the event of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh has touched off angry protests from the Samaikhya Andhra Porata Samiti (SAPS).

The SAPS General Secretary, N. Raja Reddy in a statement criticised that the former Minister resorted to such ‘unwarranted and uncalled for' remarks only to protect his business interests as the owner of a fleet of 300 buses operating in the State.
