Integrationists want all such meets cancelled
The monthly review meeting of the AP Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) at Anantapur was cancelled owing to the Samaikyandhra agitation.
A review meeting is usually held every month at all district headquarters under the APCPDCL to plan ahead and review the situation.
A similar meeting was scheduled for today with two directors - Raghuma Reddy and Srinivasa Rao - expected to attend and review the situation ahead of rabi.
However, the Samaikyandhra Vidyut Employees JAC had a different plan. Employees of the JAC led by the State co-convenor of the SVEJAC, Mr Ravi Shankar and district chairman Sampath Kumar went to the meeting raising slogans demanding Samaikyandhra and appealing to the management to cancel all such meetings until the division process was halted.
But, with the management not budging, a ruckus ensued after argument between the management and the employees. Later, the meeting was cancelled. Speaking to The Hindu Mr Ravi Shankar said that the employees had told the directors that they would take care of the power situation during rabi and would plan ahead on their own, but not let any such meetings happen until the division process was started.
