Noted film director K. Viswanath will be conferred the title ‘Viswa Vikhyata Darsaka Sarvabhouma' at the 27{+t}{+h}Maha Sivaratri Kumbabhishekam, with one crore and eight lakh Shivalingas, being organised by TSR Sevapeetham on the beach opposite Kali temple here on Monday.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Environment and Forest T. Subbarami Reddy told reporters here that Viswanath of ‘Shankarabharanam' fame would be felicitated by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas S. Jaipal Reddy and PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana.

The felicitation will be held under the aegis of TSR Lalithakala Parishat. Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao and P. Balaraju will attend the function.

Mr. Subbarami Reddy said all arrangements were complete for the Sivaratri celebrations at Ramakrishna Beach. “For the past 26 years I have been performing Maha Kumbabhishekam here to usher in peace and prosperity to the people of the region in assistance with Siva Bhaktudu of Kakinada,” he stated.

He said people could do abhisekham on their own to the ‘Padarasa Lingam.'

Continuous Bhakti Sangeetha Vibhavari will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. by music director Saluri Vasu Rao.
