TCS CEO and Managing Director Natarajan Chandrasekaran said on Tuesday that digital revolution would throw up enormous opportunities for youngsters.
In his address after receiving an honorary D.Sc from GITAM University at its fourth convocation here, he said the era of digital revolution would trigger economic growth and create millions of jobs. Mobility, cloud computing, social media and big data analytics were the areas where exciting openings would be available.
“We had experienced agriculture revolution and industrial revolution and now entered the digital consumer era. Few years ago we could not imagine a life dependent on I-phones and I-pads. There is tremendous growth in digital devices and technologies,” he remarked.
Referring to global market meltdown and Eurozone crisis, he said the pace of change during the digital revolution was faster than anyone’s imagination.
The collective power of technology in the newly emerging areas would help overcome the economy slowdown.
Mr. Chandrasekaran said since 1990 there was a lot of growth in India on elimination of poverty by improving access to drinking water, sanitation and basic amenities to a large extent due to inclusive development. He advised the students to have strong aspiration and put up serious efforts to redeem their dreams.
