Alleging that government doctors were responsible for the death of a child, some villagers held a dharna in front of the hospital at Narayanakhed on Friday. Police had to intervene and pacify the agitators.
According to sources, Shobhabai, a pregnant woman from Chapta K village, was admitted in the government hospital on Thursday evening. Doctors operated on her at around 11 p.m. and informed the relatives that the baby boy had died in her womb. Alleging that delaying the operation by the doctors led to the death of the child, the relatives of the deceased staged a dharna.
Raju, Shobhabai’s husband, lodged a complaint with the police stating that the doctors were responsible for the death of his baby. Narayanakhed SI Venkateswarlu inquired from the doctors – Rajeswar and Radhika- who said they had conducted the operation to save the mother.
