TDP leader Gunda Appala Suryanarayana on Tuesday demanded that R&B Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao come clear on his alleged involvement in the Rs. 1,875-crore beach sand project of VV Minerals being planned in Srikakulam and Gara mandals.

He alleged that the Minister and his family members had established a ‘benami’ company — Bay Minerals — and later merged it with VV Minerals to exploit natural wealth all along coastal area in the two mandals.

Addressing a media conference, Mr. Suryanarayana asked the government to scrap all the GOs pertaining to the company.

“The government should probe the nexus between the Minister’s family and industries in Srikakulam district,” he said.
