Director General of Police V. Dinesh Reddy has cleared the promotion of 40 circle inspectors as deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) in all ranges of the State.

The entire waiting list of circle inspectors for promotions has been cleared in this batch, according to a press release of Director General (Law and Order) S.A. Huda. He added that the list was cleared in a short period in a bid to encourage the police force and extend due recognition to the eligible circle inspectors.

Among the promoted officers are Hyderabad range officers G. Ganga Raju, who has been posted to Anti-Corruption Bureau, A.V. Srinivas to Lokayukta, P. Ramakanth, Y. Yadagiri and V. Venkateswarlu to Crime Investigation Department.

Date extended

Another release of the police said the last date for receipt of applications for recruitment of 6,071 police constables and firemen has been extended from February 20 to 28.
