MAHABUBNAGAR: Nava Telangana Praja Party chief T. Devender Goud said that the Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy government was introducing new zamindari system in the shape of Special Economic Zones.

Addressing Polepally SEZ victim families near Polepally village on Thursday, he said that government has sold out over 92,000 acres of agriculture land in Telangana to industrialists in the name of SEZ. He said thousands of agriculture families in Telangana region were rendered homeless due to acquisition of their lands by the government for SEZs.

He lashed at the government for making APSIIC as a broker in acquiring lands for SEZs. “Arabindo Pharma company was alone given 4,000 acres by this government,” he alleged. Mr. Goud said that the State government was minting money through HUDA and APSIIC. He said that though there are coal mines in 5 district of Telangana, people of these districts were devoid of basic amenities.
