Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu has asked the welfare associations to join hands with the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) in developing and maintaining the parks.

Mr. Ravi Babu visited APIIC Colony, Subba Rao Colony and other areas on Monday.

The residential welfare associations urged him to develop parks in vacant lands of the VMC.


Responding to it, the commissioner directed the engineering wing to construct compound wall, lighting, and benches in the vacant lands at Jawahar Autonagar and APIIC Colony.

Nelli Venkateswara Rao would bear the expenses for developing the park at the APIIC Colony if it was named after his father.

Inspecting the ongoing works at Jawahar Nagar Municipal Corporation Primary School, the Municipal Commissiner asked the officials to speed up the works and complete at the earliest.

Prasad of RTC Colony told the commissioner that he and Vijayawada Educational Trust would spend Rs. 50,000 per annum for development of the school if it was named after his daughter.

Horticulture Director Panduranga Rao and others were present.
