Lawyers boycott court protesting Rayala-Telangana proposal
Students and Telangana protagonists on Wednesday staged protests across the district in response to the bandh call given by the TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao against the Rayala Telangana proposal.
Students under the banner of the TRSV took out a huge rally from Gandhi Chowrasta to the Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium in the district headquarters. The TRS urban (in-charge) Baswa Lakshminarsaiah, party minority cell president Tariq Ansari and the TRSV district president Mahesh participated in the rally.
Meanwhile, lawyers boycotted the courts for the second day on Wednesday and staged a protest. In a separate programme, students and the TRS polit bureau member A.S. Posetty squatted on the road in the town. Police was put on high alert in view of the protests and bandh to be observed on Thursday. The rally at Banswada was led by T. Harish Rao and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.
Special Correspondent adds: Telangana protagonists on Wednesday staged demonstrations across the district opposing the Rayala-Telangana proposal. TRS activists formed a human chain and burnt the effigy of Central government at the NTR Chowk while activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a rasta roko at the same place.
Protagonists also took out a motorcylce rally in town raising slogans against Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Congress for floating the proposal of Rayala-Telangana.
correspondent adds: Protest rallies, rasta rokos and burning of effigies were witnessed in the district on Wednesday, ahead of the TRS bandh. Opposing the Rayala-Telangana move, activists of the TRS, TRSV, BJP, ABVP, and other Telangana protagonists organised protest demonstrations across the district. ABVP activists after boycotting classes organised rasta rokos at M.V.S. Junior College and Palamuru University and on the Raichur-Hyderabad road.
Staff Reporter adds: Pro-Telangana activists staged protests across Medak district, opposing the Rayala –Telangana proposal. Rallies were taken out at Siddipet, Zaheerabad and Sangareddy. Later, a human chain was formed at Ambedkar Circle.
In Sangareddy, lawyers boycotted duties at the district court and held a protest.
Special Correspondent adds: Scores of party cadre led by MLA D Vinay Bhaskar took out a motor-cycle rally from KUC crossroads to Public Gardens in Hanamkonda while Telangana Jagruthi members staged a demonstration at the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial.
Students belonging to various educational institutions led by the TRS students’ wing formed human chain and blocked the traffic for a while in Hanamkonda.
