The West Godavari District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) chairman Mutyala Venkateswara Rao (Ratnam) sees no role of money in his election. Addressing the media personnel, he denied the reports of distribution of money to the electorate in huge amounts. “I don’t know about the other parties. As for the Congress, we were not a party to luring the voters. I even don’t think the voters having come with agricultural background would be carried away by money,” he observed.
He asserted that the unflinching unity within his party was responsible for his success in the DCCB and the DCMS elections in the district. Mr. Ratnam dismissed the view that the group rivalries in his party had marred its winning prospects in the Jangareddygudem and Polavaram PACS which led to contraction of his majority.
