Several Ministers came in the firing line of their own party MLAs belonging to the Dalit community, who complained to AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad about how they were helping YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy. A delegation comprising Chief Whip Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister S. Sailajanath and others called on Mr. Azad here on Tuesday and expressed resentment at what they called the ‘dubious role' played by some Ministers. Accusing them of being hand in glove with the YSR Congress Party chief, these leaders said these leaders were encouraging their kith and kin to sail with Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy while continuing in the Cabinet.

Action sought

They lamented that none of these Ministers, particularly those belonging to a dominant community, felt it fit to react when Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy and his supporters targeted AICC president Sonia Gandhi. They instead criticised TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu conveniently avoiding any reference to Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy. They demanded tough action against the rebel legislators in order to send across the right signal to the party cadres. The Dalit MLAs are said to have also brought to Mr. Azad's notice the poor implementation of housing programme. The other members of the delegation included MLAs Prasad Kumar (Vikarabad), B. N. Vijay Kumar (Santhanuthalapadu) and MLC Kumara Rao.
